Why Celebrity for General Dentistry?

One of the biggest advantages to being a Celebrity Dental patient is receiving treatment at one office. We won't send you across town to different doctors for each of your unique dental needs. We have experienced dentists right here on our staff, as well as our own in-house lab, which allows us to cut down your wait time significantly. What's more, both our Dallas and Fort Worth offices provide general dentistry services, so you can choose the location that is most convenient for you.

Now let's go over some of the general dentistry services we offer here at Celebrity Dental in Dallas and Fort Worth.

Dental Crowns are used to cover and protect damaged teeth. Crowns are often recommended for teeth that are broken, stained, poorly shaped or misaligned. They may also be placed on teeth with large, damaged fillings and teeth that have had root canals. With proper care, a crown can last up to ten years.

Crowns can be made from several different materials, including composite resin, gold, porcelain or porcelain fused to metal. Each of these materials has its own benefits and fits a unique type of dental need. For instance, composite resin is used to create crowns for teeth that are highly visible. Composite resin allows crowns to be customized to match the natural tooth using a special color-matching system. In contrast, metal and gold crowns are known for their strength and are placed on high-impact rear teeth because of their ability to resist damage and remain effective in those roles.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a permanent solution for missing teeth. It is a fixed partial denture used to replace missing teeth and preserve correct alignment in the mouth. When cared for properly, a bridge can last up to ten years in a patient's mouth.

There are three types of dental bridges: Traditional Dental Bridges, Cantilever Dental Bridges, and Maryland Dental Bridges. A traditional dental bridge can be made from gold, porcelain or other alloys. A traditional bridge consist of a false tooth, or pontic, fused between two crowns. These crowns are place on the healthy teeth on each side of the missing tooth.

A Cantilever dental bridge is a similar to a traditional bridge but uses one crown instead of two. This type of bridge is used when there is only one healthy tooth next to the missing tooth.

A Maryland dental bridge does not use crowns to anchor the false tooth. Instead, the false tooth is fused to sturdy metals bands that are bonded to the back of the existing teeth.

Root Canals

A root canal is the process of removing the infected, diseased, or dead pulp from the root of a tooth. This treatment prevents the infection from spreading to the rest of the tooth, at which point the entire tooth would have to be extracted.

To perform a root canal, the dentist creates an access hole in the tooth, then cleans and refills the root canal and places a filling.

Here at Celebrity Dental, our caring staff is committed to making this treatment virtually painless for our patients. We use the latest technology to facilitate this procedure effectively, and we see your comfort as our priority.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

The third and final set of molars in your mouth are commonly known as the wisdom teeth. They are (or would be) the last teeth to erupt in a young person's mouth, and it is common for wisdom teeth to be removed before they have a chance to erupt on their own.

Wisdom teeth are extracted when there is not enough room in the mouth to the accommodate them, and to prevent the pain, infection or disease that can occur while they are erupting.

Wisdom teeth are also removed when they are impacted and thus pose a threat to the surrounding healthy teeth. A wisdom tooth is considered impacted when it is growing sideways, is only partially erupted, or is trapped beneath the gum line. When a wisdom tooth is impacted, the only treatment option is extraction.

There can be serious health consequences if an impacted wisdom tooth is not removed. A poorly aligned, impacted wisdom tooth may damage the roots of surrounding teeth. A partially-erupted wisdom tooth may leave a hole where bacteria can enter the gum and cause an infection. A cyst may also develop around the impacted tooth, causing damage to the surrounding bone structure.

Wisdom teeth extraction is a very common procedure. It can be performed by a dentist with Celebrity Dental.

Your Dallas & Fort Worth Dentist

For each patient, our experienced staff begins with an initial consultation and thorough diagnostics using x-rays and, if necessary, CT scans and wax molds. From there, we can help you make an informed decision about which of the above oral care treatments you need (if any), and how you would like to proceed with them.
